Seems that my predictions were right :)
Home wins in the two big games. I had not predicted that Chelsea would concede two goals without reply. I had expected 2-1 to the Arsenal (though I didn't blog that - it was on my reminder as the score line :) ). An expensive win for Arsenal though, as RVP broke a bone. (Remember Rooney and Beckam?)
Anyway Arsenal have started the year on top gear. Liverpool have recovered from their Cup hiccups. Chelsea seem to have major defensive problems. I don't expect ManU to 'slow down' or lose games just because they lost against Arsenal. It was a close game. Chelsea on the other hand had better watch out, as Liverpool are now just 5 points behind them - Chelsea still need to visit the Emirates Stadium and play ManU too.
So the 'Big 4' table standings have not changed from this weekends games.
Arsenal Played 4 Won 3 Drawn 1 Lost 0 10 points
Chelsea Played 4 Won 1 Drawn 2 Lost 1 5 Points
Man U Played 4 Won 1 Drawn 1 Lost 2 4 Points
Liverpool Played 4 Won 1 Drawn 0 Lost 3 3 Points
I would like to see a closer title race run in
But for me, the really shocking result was: Middlesborough 5 - 1 Bolton

I dont know wha happened to the Wanderers. This is a team that seats on the Gooners proper. Their defeat was as painful as that of The devils.
Real Soccer funs dont dismiss teams like Pompey, Boro. I went out with a girlfriend for BIG game and I remember her saying "Man U bila Ronaldo, Rooney & Saha wameisha"
Thats the kind that fills pubs in tao only when there is a big match. They have no idea what players like Scholes, Essien, Evra, Carrick, Silva and other dynamos contribute to a game.
True about 'Real Soccer Fans' - people filling pubs only when there's a large game and - that comment was quite something :)
Scholes really is the reason why Manchester United have been really resurgent this season. (Ok apart from an effervescent Ronaldo and a limited number of injuries)
Essien has been a real Dynamo in the midfield for Chelsea.. Possibly their best player. So when Terry and Carvalho get injured and he's forced to play in defence.. that's trouble for chelsea.
Bolton have weaknesses. I've watched them play quite abit.
Arsenal may just change that tag of 'bogey' team this coming saturday though.
Boro however are a very interesting team. One day, they are on top form, and giving everyone a run for their money. The next day (which unfortunately is most of the time) they are back to their rather harmless selves.
Evra looks to have permanently displaced Heinze on the left back position.
